Happy Mother's Day

We honour our mothers. We often give them flowers, chocolates or some other gift. In your country do you have a special day to celebrate mothers? What are some appropriate gifts? What do you appreciate about your mother?

Do you know how to use these expressions?

• A mother hen
• To take someone under your wing
• Still tied to his/her mother's apron strings
• Maternal instinct

    In Colombia, this is the most important celebration of the year. Usually, we celebrate in different ways this day. For example inviting our mom for dinner and giving her a special gift like a bouquet of flowers, gift baskets or chocolates. Roses are a very popular gift and the most sold type of flower for this occasion. We share this special day with our mom and express affection to her. There is no one so special like our mom,,, Happy mother's day!!! Sonia
